Tuesday's used to be Dollar burger days...

Hello!

I used to work at a bar in Ann Arbor, and Tuesday's were always "Dollar burger nights" which we all hated, because nobody tipped and it was a LOT of people in and out, with small sections.  How things have changed...I have to say though that I am very glad that I worked there because I met some of my best friends there.

Over this past weekend my husband came home from a week long trip to Vancouver, he had a blast (I on the other hand, did NOT) I was home alone with our daughter the whole week and I went a little stir crazy! I was very glad to have him home and to take over some of the middle of the morning feedings! Over the weekend we had a lot of fun.  We got to go to the pool for the first time with Charlotte (she loved it!)

I wasn't sure she would like it, but I think she will be a water baby just like me! We also had a BBQ at my in-laws which was fun but very hot! Monday we went on a long hike at Gallup Park and the Arb, which was really fun to be outside (even if it was 90 degrees) I had never been to the Arb that far into it before so it was very pretty, and we got to see the beautiful Peony gardens!
Some of the beautiful peonies!

We tired her out after the hike!

Anyways, Charlotte will be 5 months old in a few days, time is flying I can hardly believe it! Looking forward to a fun summer, we will be trying solid food with her next week, I will keep you posted!

Random Thoughts on a Saturday Evening

Today was the first Saturday since the beginning of April that my husband didn't have to do research.  I thought it would be a fun day, so we woke up went grocery shopping, then did laundry.  It wasn't as fun as I had imagined, but now we have all day tomorrow to hang out.  Tomorrow is Mothers day, my first one as a mom, I will be running in an all women's 5k with a few friends and I am very excited.  We will have brunch with my in-laws and then dinner with my parents.  In between we will get to go do something outside in nature.  I am a nature girl, always have been, my family thinks its strange being as I am a girly girl to the extreme in other ways.  I will always go outside and play in the mud, rain, hike, whatever I can do outside it makes me feel so peaceful!
This picture was taken on my honeymoon in St. Thomas

We discovered today that Charlotte is scared of vacuum cleaners. We are getting excited to travel to Florida in a month with her, and for her to see the ocean and be in the sand.

Update on my Life

Wow, I forgot I had started this blog in school about 5 years ago! I got married May 8, 2010, had my daughter December 31, 2011, and completely changed my mind about my life path! I wasn't feeling like I loved anything that had to do with my degree, so I decided after getting laid off that I would go back to school to be a teacher :) I have been substitute teaching to get eperience (and some money), and will find out tomorrow what my basic skills test score will be, and then I will find out within a few weeks if I got in at EMU for the summer semester! My husband Russ has been beyond supportive, and I am so thankful to have someone that will support my dreams without a second thought.

My daughter Charlotte is now 4 months old and she is the sweetest little girl.  She is smiling all the time, reaching for EVERYTHING, putting everything in her mouth, babbles, rolling over sometimes, giggling, standing with help, and just started having rice cereal.  It has been such a journey so far with her, and I have to say the surprise has been totally worth it, I cannot imagine my life without her.  She is 16 lbs, and 25 inches long, growing like a weed and in the 90th percentile for both.
