Hardest Thing

Next up on the list is "What is the hardest thing you have ever experienced"

I think that it would have to be the time during my college years that I had to switch schools, be away from Russ and go through my brothers addiction. Those three things combined was an awful time.  My families relationship got tested, my relationship with myself got tested, and my relationship with Russ got REALLY tested. I won't go into the details but I am so happy to be out of that time and to have grown and learned so much about myself and my family during that.

Today we went to Gallup Park and took a really nice walk with a good friend, it was beautiful today perfect weather, and with all the leaves changing it was just perfect!

 Charlotte loves my sunglasses
Not quite sure if she likes them on, would rather chew on them
Taking a break on a bridge

Yesterday, my husband got to spend the day with Charlotte while I was teaching, they had a blast and sent me these pictures!

Next up on "The List" is "List 5 things that make you most happy right now"

1.) Charlotte (my daughter) she is so happy and fun, she makes me smile every day, I love hanging out with her, and showing her how to do everything. She is learning how to talk right now and can say "Mama" "Dada" and "Nana" it melts my heart when she says "mama" to me in the morning and gives me a smile.

2.) Russ (my hubs) he is awesome!

3.) Pictures, I have always loved taking pictures ever since I was in high school and I am FINALLY getting a legit camera for Christmas, I am so excited to be able to take all of my family pictures and to document our lives with a better camera.

4.) Chicago, Russ and I are going on a weekend get away just the two of us in a couple of weeks and it will be the first time we have been away for two nights without Charlotte.  We need it desperately and the sleeping in part will be a great perk as well!

5.) School! Since I passed my math test, I can finally start school in the winter semester, I cannot even wait to start because that means I am that much closer to reaching my dream of being a teacher.

2.) Yes, you do get a boyfriend
3.) Yes, you can drive stick shift
4.) Pay more attention in school, it will help your GPA
5.) Be nicer to your mom
6.) In swim practice make sure you work on your backstroke and flip turns more
7.) You ARE smart, it just takes longer for you to study but stick with it!
8.) Stay true to yourself
9.) You aren't too skinny, don't worry about what other people think you are an athlete, strong, and beautiful.
10.) Keep asking questions about your faith, it will lead you to amazing discoveries on who you are.

I love this list, it really makes you think about things you normally wouldn't think about!

My beautiful baby girl is almost 9 months old, she definitely got the best of both of us! This is her before we went on a walk yesterday, I am so jealous of her eye lashes!

Next up

Next on the list is: Describe your relationship with your parents.

My relationship with my parents is awesome.  We went through some not so great times but have overcome them and moved on.  My mom is one of my best friends I tell her everything, and we talk almost every day.  My Dad is amazing too, they are both great people and I hope someday Charlotte can say that about me.

Since we have started training for our half marathon October 21, we have both lost a lot of weight and have gotten a lot stronger.  I am so proud of this and hope that we continue to live a healthy lifestyle and show Charlotte (and future kids) that it is fun to be healthy.  Recently Charlotte has started loving to walk with one of us holding her hands, or walking in between the couch and ottomans, she is so proud of this fact and it is the cutest thing.

Next topic on the list is: List 3 legitimate fears you have and why you have them.

1.  Spiders-  I cannot stand spiders, even if they are teeny and won't hurt me I make my husband kill them. I think this came to be because when I was growing up in Texas they were literally everywhere in my house and I just couldn't fall asleep unless there weren't any in my room, so my mom would have to dispose of them.  I think I just don't like creepy crawling things in general.

2. Death/Dying- I think I am scared of this because it is unknown.  It really freaks me out even thinking about not being here anymore.  I think that is why I struggle sometimes with my faith, but it calms me knowing that when I do go to church and I hear a sermon about death that there IS an afterlife.  At least I believe there is one, or else I would go nuts thinking about it if I didn't believe in one.

3. Landing and take off when in a plane - It just scares me with all the noise and bumps etc.  I still love to travel, but if I could just skip the part where we land and take off that would be ideal.

Well there you have it!
Our weekend in pictures:
 Rooting for Michigan (they lost)
 Meeting baby Andrew
Sleeping (ALOT bc we are all sick)
helping to pay bills

We didn't have a very eventful weekend, but we all got sick so we just needed to rest up and get better!

Well, I did it! I PASSED the math basic skills test FINALLY!!! Third times a charm I guess :) Anyway what does that mean I am sure you are wondering? It means I get to start my career in teaching! I will start school in the winter semester at Eastern, and hopefully it only takes 2.5 years.  I am so excited, I finally get to start my dream!

On to another topic, we had the BEST mini vacation over the weekend to Macatawa, Michigan near Holland.  Our family friends rented a huge 6 bedroom house/cottage there for a month for their family reunion, and invited my family there for the weekend.  It was RIGHT on Lake Michigan and it was exactly what we needed.
The Owl's Nest where we stayed
Russ and Charlotte on the beach
 Beautiful sunset
 We had so much fun
Walking on the beach

We are also going on a weekend away to Chicago just Russ and me in October, and leaving the baby with my parents! We are super excited.  That is what has been going on! Until next time,
